Properties and Performance Attributes of Novel Co-extruded Polyolefi n Battery Separator Materials
Jun 09 , 2021
Richard S. Baldwin Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio Impedance Measurement Cell Fabrication A modified 2325 coin cell configuration was employed as the cell fixture for conductivity and impedance (i.e., electrical resistance) measurements of electrolyte-wetted separator samples over the desired temperature range. This test configuration was selected as it provides a constant and reproducible ...

Temperature-Dependent Solubility of Solid Electrolyte Interphase on Silicon Electrodes
Jun 11 , 2021
Construction of Si Anode Half Cell. Experimental Method. Si wafer samples with native SiOx surface layer were used in this study. All of the silicon electrodes (1 cm × 1 cm squares) were cleaned with an established multi step cleaning protocol to remove surface contamination.33 Silicon wafers (Czochralski process, boron-doped to 0.001−0.005 Ω cm, (100) orientation, 700 μm thick, purchased from Add...

Synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of unsupported porous NiS submicrometer spheres as a cathode material for lithium batteries
Jun 18 , 2021
Debajyoti Mondal•Gilles Villemure•Chaojie Song 2.2 Synthesis of porous NiS submicrospheres The USP procedure for the synthesis of nanomaterials wasreported elsewhere [54]. A solution containingNiCl26H2O, Na2S2O35H2O, and colloidal silica was prepared according to a procedure reported in our previouspaper [55]. The solution was loaded to a USP ultrasonic cell, after which the system was purged with...

An Approach to Make Macroporous Metal Sheets as Current Collectors for Lithium-Ion Batteries
Jun 23 , 2021
The freestanding, laminated film was sintered in air by increasing the temperature of the furnace at a slow rate to 1000°C, holding at1000°C for 1 h, and then decreasing the temperature at a rate of5°C/min to room temperature. This high temperature treatment was done to completely burn all carbon and organic materials to generate a porous structure and to simultaneously allow CuO particles to conn...
