Synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of unsupported porous NiS submicrometer spheres as a cathode material for lithium batteries
Jun 18 , 2021
Debajyoti Mondal•Gilles Villemure•Chaojie Song 2.2 Synthesis of porous NiS submicrospheres The USP procedure for the synthesis of nanomaterials wasreported elsewhere [54]. A solution containingNiCl26H2O, Na2S2O35H2O, and colloidal silica was prepared according to a procedure reported in our previouspaper [55]. The solution was loaded to a USP ultrasonic cell, after which the system was purged with...

Monolithic Nanoporous Zn Anode for Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries
Jun 28 , 2021
Congcheng Wang,# Guoyin Zhu,# Pan Liu, and Qing Chen* METHODS Battery Assembly and Testing. Ni−Zn batteries were assembled into coin-type cells (CR2032) with a Zn anode, either the compressed nanoporous Zn (∼0.36 cm2 in size) or a pasted electrode comprising Zn powder (90 wt %, Aldrich), polyvinylidene fluoride (Arkema Kynar), and a NiOOH cathode (650 mAh, GP Batteries). Tin foil was used as the a...

Lithium Ion Conducting Polymerized Ionic Liquid Pentablock Terpolymers as Solid-State Electrolytes
Jul 12 , 2021
Abstract In this study, a lithium ion conducting polymerized ionic liquid pentablock terpolymer (PILPTP) was investigated as a battery electrolyte (Xiamen Tmaxcn Inc.) for lithium ion batteries. The ABCBA pentablock terpolymer, poly(tbS-b-EP-b-MS-b-EP-b-tbS) (tbS = tert-butyl-styrene; EP = ethylene-r-propylene; MS = 4-methylstyrene), was brominated and quaternized to covalently attach two dif...

Exploiting Anti-T-shaped Graphenes Architecture to Form Low Tortuosity, Sieve-like Interfaces for High-performance Anodes for Li-Based Cells
Jul 23 , 2021
Experimental Section Synthesis of multilayer-graphene nanowalls anchored on carbon paper：The carbon paper used was commercialized Toray carbon paper (CP). Every CP was tailored to be a wafer of 16mm in diameter. Subsequently, the mutilayer-graphene nanowalls would be grown on this CP substrate using RF-PECVD. The parameters were 200W (power), 890℃ (temperature), 30min (time) and 1000Pa (...
