Electrode Preparation: The fabrication line includes equipment for coating, drying, and calendaring processes. Coating machines apply the electrode materials onto metal foil substrates, ensuring uniform distribution and thickness. Drying ovens remove solvents and moisture from the coated electrodes, while calendaring machines compress and smooth the electrodes for consistent performance.

 

Electrode Assembly line: This step involves slitting the coated electrode sheets into narrower strips and stacking them with separator layers to form electrode assemblies, also known as jelly rolls. Tab welding equipment is used to join the electrode tabs to the current collectors, establishing electrical connections.

 

Cell Assembly: The fabrication line includes equipment for cell formation, where the electrode assemblies are filled with electrolyte and assembled into cylindrical cell cases. Cell sealing machines hermetically seal the assembled cells to prevent leakage and ensure safety. Aging chambers subject the sealed cells to specific temperature and voltage conditions for a predetermined period to stabilize their performance.

 

Battery Testing machine: Battery testing systems are employed to measure and evaluate the electrical performance characteristics of the 18650 batteries. These systems conduct tests such as capacity, voltage, internal resistance, and cycle life testing. Safety testing equipment is also used to ensure that the batteries meet safety standards and can withstand various scenarios, including short circuits, overcharging, and thermal abuse.

 

Optional Battery Pack Assembly: Depending on the requirements, the fabrication line may include equipment for integrating multiple 18650 cells into a battery pack. This process involves combining the cells with necessary electronics, connectors, and protective features to create a complete battery pack.
